Centerpieces
To keep cost low we decided to go with non-floral centerpieces. We purchased tiered votive candle holders from Dollar Tree and made fabric squares from a satin fabric purchased a Hobby Lobby.
Each table will have one fabric square with a mirror tile on top and then 3 tiered candle holders. We will also have some little crystal stones around on the mirror.
Below are photos of the candles holders from DT websites, they are item number 977007 and mock-up photos of our centerpieces (the mirror tile is provided free of charge by our venue and is not pictured here).

- Note to those interested in these candle holders - DT has them and then runs out all the time! They tend to run out on their website around October or November and will have them back in stock in February. Call the 800 number for Customer Service and ask about them. I had to order online because our local store never had them or had enough. If you see them offered online and you like them, order them! They will not be around forever and you might miss your chance. Chances are if you are order and end up not using them you will be able to sell them. I sold ours on Craigslist after the wedding for the same price I purchased them for.
Lighting
Our DJ does free uplighting and room lighting. Room lighting is not something I would have considered paying for but if its free I am more than happy to let him create a great look for us.
The picture to the left is one I found online while searching for uplighting ideas. Our venue will provide a stage and background for the head table and I would love for our DJ to lite it like this.
For more information about our DJ and pictures of his work check out "Our Vendors" under "A Columbia Wedding".

Plastic Canvas Wedding Cake
This two-tier plastic canvas cake was made by my cousin, Nancy, for her sisters wedding in the 1970's. It has since been used in two other family weddings and will by on our guestbook table. I will be the first family member to marry in 10 years. My family is very excited to have a wedding in the family!
Nancy passed away in September of 2005 from complications of mutliple sclerosis (MS). We are happy to have this piece of her work at our wedding in her memory.
